I get your point! Good job!

    Cheers,

in reply to: Calculating Spreads costs #62777

    Hey guys,

I get your concern, but there is no 100% answer to that.

Usually, the brokers widen the spread when there is volatility on the market but that usually is the best time to enter into the trade and take quick profits.

Answering the very first question – it matters when you open the position. For example, if you want to buy, you will be buying at the Ask price and you will see a negative start for the trade – the spread. When the trade closes it will close on the BID price at that moment.
Or in other words, it matters at the opening and in the closing.

But you pay the spread one time. And actually, it is not actual “Pay the spread” there is no such a thing. It is just opening the long trade at the Ask price and closing it at the Bid price. The same thing applies conversely to the short trades.

    Hello Eddie,

I see the green part when running the Reactor as well. Are you sure you include it from the Generator settings?

    Hey Graeme,

If you attach a screenshot it will be easier for me to see the reason.

In the Portfolio you can add EAs from same currency pairs and same time frame. If you tried differently, that might be one of the reasons.

    Let me know.

    Hey Asser!

That is interesting! I did something similar for one of my courses but yours looks better.

However, there is something important I realized with the time. And it is simple.

Why should we look for 5 years on H1 and on M15?

In your table, it is very clear that on M15 we have +160k bars and on H1 we have +40k bars. That is 4 times fewer bars which is logical because 1 hour has 4 x 15 min.

So is 1 kilo of cotton heavier or 1 kilo of iron? :)

If EA Studio works great on 40k bars for H1 then you should be using 40k bars for M15 as well.

What I am saying is that IT IS the number of bars that matters, not the time period.

    Hey Asser,

That is quite an interesting idea that I had from before. But I wanted Forex Software to integrate it somehow with EA Studio which would make it very useful for the traders.

Thanks for sharing, I will have a deeper look into it later today.

in reply to: Can EA studio use Custom Indicators? #62706

    Hey Samuel,

I am just sharing my experience. Do not take it as convincing. I do not say that custom indicators won’t work. Just explaining why they are not in EA Studio. More to prevent technical issues rather than being profitable or not.

And all the indicators are based on the price and the volume. At the end of the day, they are not that different.

Is this your experience with the EAs or from manual trading?

    Hey Asser,

I am glad to hear from you again. Leave it that way, it is standard for all brokers.

Let me know if there is anything else.

    Cheers,

    Cheers, Samuel. Another typo :)

Let me know if you have other questions.

in reply to: Can EA studio use Custom Indicators? #62307

    Hey guys,

This is interesting topic and there are a few things that you would need to know about the indicators and EA Studio.

Actually we are planning to create series of videos on the indicators which will explain more about how they work and why in EA Studio we use only the MetaTrader indicators and a few more.

For example, when we say Moving Average Crossover, I am not sure if you know that there is no actual crossing of lines. There are no lines or Moving Averages at all. Every bar has values and there are values for the MA for each bar. The line is just imaginary and with the indicators, it is represented with a line. There is a cool Indicator chart on FSB Pro that shows that.

So what we see on the chart is quite tricky sometimes and many indicators are created from developers and they are done in a way to look really great, very useful, but it real they do not work. Now, I do not say that the mentioned indicators don’t work, I don’t know that. But usually, if they do work, the developer of the indicator would make an EA as well and sell it for a lot of money…if it works :)

So in EA Studio, you will find the most practical indicators which work great combined together. And this is where the Generator helps by telling us which indicators we can combine and with what parameters inside.

A lot of tests are done for each indicator before it is added to EA Studio…and I don’t think adding custom indicators will be available at any point because if there is an issue with that custom indicator it will break the code, the strategies, and the whole workflow.

The people will blame EA Studio for that and not the custom indicator…

It’s just if you go to the Mercedes showroom and say “Hey guys, I want to new S-class but is it possible to put BMW breaks?” :)

    Hey Samiel,

That is interesting. Let me know if it worked this way. I never tested it.

Did you notice that you have more losses on Friday then profits or?

in reply to: Updates in the courses #62296

    Dear traders,

I hope you are doing great. The last month was one of the hardest for the traders. A lot of news, unexpected movements, and difficulties for all traders and investors.

I have updated a few of the EAs in the Forex Trading Strategies from a Professional Trader + Top 5 Professional EA and I have uploaded the updates for October. Also, you will find the changes for the strategies in the PDFs attached to the strategy Set Up lectures.

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Kind regards,

    Petko A

in reply to: Updates in the courses #62218

    Hey Traders,

I have uploaded all of the October Expert Advisors in the courses that I update every month.

Have a look at them and make sure to test the EAs on Demo.

If you have your top performers from September trading successfully, you can keep trading with them until they get into a losing phase.

You will find the new EAs at the same lectures.

    Kind regards,

    Petko A

in reply to: Trend Trading EA #62052

    Hello Samuel,

I get confused about what is your name. Sometimes you say Samuel, sometimes Smaul :)

All the EAs that are based on trend indicators are trend-following EAs.

You can find the trend indicators if you go to MetaTrader – Insert – Indicators – Trend. You have 7 indicators there which are known as trend indicators.

If you want to build an EA using any of these indicators just add it as a preset indicator. The Generator will find strategies for you using this indicator.

Now, the trend trading EA depends a lot on the rule of the indicator.

For example, if you use Moving Average, you have a few options:

If you use Moving Average rises for entry condition to buy, then yes, you have a trend trading EA.

But if you use the Moving Average changes its direction downwards then you will have in EA that opens a buy trend against the trend.

So when you runt he generator with preset indicators, just have a look at the entry rules and pick up the ones that are following the trend.

Of course, you can combine a few indicators which would be the better thing to do.
